The archived thread was started by a Mr. Cooke. He had tried this and other sites to obtain the identity of the Fynney family but failed to complete his task and sadly died, none the wiser. His wife left his e-mail account open for a while and it was she that informed me.

As you say Frederick Adolphus Fynney once again picked up the tab for his brother and surviving offspring. He seems to have been a generous man and much is left in his will to charities the emphasis being to needy children and women's charities. This family is my wife's line and she is descended from Frederick Adolphus's only and illegitimate son, no philanthropy there, he cut him right out. Nowt so queer as folk!
