Re: MARRIAGE OF WILLIAM KELLY AND ELIZABETH QUAYLE

Hello Dennis,

I looked up a lot of records for Paul, but apart from making the connection to your family quite a few were "best guesses", so I do hope they were correct.

The IGI has an extracted (from par reg) bapt for Thomas son of William Kelly & Elizabeth 26 Jan.1857 Kirk Michael. This can be seen on LDS film through any Family History Centre worldwide, open to all. See contact details for the closest one to you in the phone book under "Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints".
I recommend this if possible, because for a small ordering fee you get the whole film to look through for a month, for other parish register entries for the family, as well as Thomas's bapt. The LDS film number is 0106178 [Baptisms, marriages, burials, 1849-1883; Parish Church of Michael (Isle of Man)] This should also have the burial I mentioned for William Kelly, aged 70 on 23 May 1877. - I hope the right one [aged 64 in the 1871 census]. Donna said he was of Glenwyllan, and also Jane 90 bur 20 Jul 1868 who would be on the same film.

Unfortunately Elizabeth's burial in 1889 (if the correct Eliz.) is too recent to be on that film, but there would be a death cert for her, because civil registration for births and deaths started in 1878 [KELLY, Elizabeth 78 Michael 9 Jul 1889]. Those details should be enough to order her cert from the Registry, or to go in and view it if you are in the IOM. You can email them - see "Contacts" at the top of the page: www.gov.im/registries/general/civilregistry/

They can also post you photocopies of those parish records, but it is the more expensive option.
