Re: MARRIAGE OF WILLIAM KELLY AND ELIZABETH QUAYLE

Hi Sue,

The information I got for Isabella McDonald and Thomas Kelly was from their marriage certificate. In 1877 it says on the Marriage certificate that she was 22 and for Thomas it looks like 26 or possibly 21.

I haven't had a chance to look at the any Census, as I say all my information is taken from a marriage Certificate I got at scotlandspeople.gov.uk ,so if you sign up to the news letter at , www.ancestralscotland.com/newsletter/ you get an email with a credit code for 10 credits you can use at scotlandspeople.gov.uk.

On said Marriage Certificate is says that Thomas Kelly's Usual Residence as, Kirk Michael Isle of Man, his Father is William Kelly, Seaman, Merchant Service (Deceased) and his Mother as Elizabeth Quayle.

That same Marriage Certificate gives Isabella McDonald as 22, I cant make out her usual residence at the moment but it is Ross-shire, her Father as Donald McDonald also a Seaman in the Merchant Service but still alive, might be possible he knew Thomas Kelly's father perhaps, and her mother as Isabella McDonald.

I was looking for my Great grandmothers parents, her name is Annie Kelly born around 1912, her usual residence at the time of her marriage to my Great Grandfather Charles MacDonald was 14 North Drive, Inverness, her father was Thomas Kelly, Labourer at time of her marriage and her mother was Isabella McDonald.

Because of this I searched for a marriage between a Thomas Kelly and a Isabella McDonald and the one in Lerwick, is the only Scottish marriage I could find, for around about the time, but looking on here it might be possible I'm looking in the wrong place, and might think about looking for Kelly's in the Isle of Man.
