Re:Comish--CAINE
In Response To: Re:Comish--CAINE ()

Frances,
We're on the same page re John James being s/o William Caine & Ann Scott.

(I think Wm might have been previously md to Margaret Cleator and they had William Henry ch 14 Mar 1844 Andreas but I'm still working on this)

There are at least 2 Williams b 1823 Andreas
ch 18 Mar 1823 s/o John Caine & Isabella Teare--I can't find marriage or other children
ch 2 Nov 1823 s/o William Caine & Frances "Fanny" Radcliffe.

From the Cuyahoga County, Ohio papers we know
William Cain family of Cleveland
1850 Cleveland 1st ward census # 17: Hugh Lord 41 shoemaker IOM; Ann 34 IOM; Mary Callow 24 IOM; Caius Lord 9 Ohio; Hugh Lord 2 Ohio; Wm Caine 27 shoemaker IOM

William Cain was born in the Isle of Man, October 30, 1823, and died in Cleveland, October 31, 1880. He married, in Cuyahoga County, January 15, 1855, Jane Caley, daughter of Patrick and Jane (Gill) Caley. She was baptized at Lezayre, January 14,1829, and came to Warrensville soon after. Jane died by March 3, 1895. See Patrick Caley family of Newburg, p. 48.
William Cain was a shoemaker in Cleveland.
Children of Jane Caley and William Cain: born in Ohio

i. William E. Cain was born about 1852-56.

ii. Frank C. Cain was born about 1864.

iii. Charles Cain was born about 1866. Died young?

If the above is accurate, this must be the Wm ch 1823 s/o Wm/Fanny Radcliffe??

Is the William who md Ann Scott, the other one??

These Cain(e)s are forever driving me crazy?
