The Ann Christian on Margaret Jane's birth cert in 1867 was Ann Christian Radcliffe so I imagine it was the daughter. I cannot find her after this date though so do not know if she married or died.
When I get home I shall look again at the John James certificates I have in case I have any more that I have not scanned into the computer. I have been unable to find any baptisms for him either. Margaret Jane was baptised in St james the Less but some helpful people in the W Lancs FHS have told me that this church was not in existence before 1862 and John James is not in St Peter's where all the other Radcliffes appear to be. That is why there is still a nagging doubt as to when and where he was born.
