Re: Curphey fishmonger
In Response To: Re: Curphey fishmonger ()

Thanks Frances and NGC very helpfull.

So does this look feasible -

The Curphey I was looking for was -

William Curphey (died from the after effects of mustard gas poisoning) married to Lizzie (from Hull?) - had the 13 kids I mentioned - one of whom was Berti - maybe the Robert L.Curphy Frances mentioned? - maybe the Nelson Street property was post census.

William was the son of Robert Curphey (the sailor, fisherman, pleasureboat owner and the person who set up the fish retail buisness)and Mary Spencer.

Robert was the son of Thomas Curphey and Jane Callow.

Thomas was the son of Robert Curphey and Ann Knickle.

Robert was the son of William Curphey and Joney Kinty.

William was the son of Robert Curphey and Ann Goldsmith. - around 1724.

Does this sound correct?
Does anyone know if Pat Nicholson has any more uptodate research and if the earlier Curphey links including the rumoured ones to the Ballakillingan Curpheys were substantiated? Thankyou.
