The annual meeting of the Sub-District, held in the Mercantile Club, Douglas, was reported in the Isle of Man Examiner of 15 February 1890. James A. Brown of the Isle of Man Times was elected chairman of the Committee which included journalists from the Ramsey Courier, Peel City Guardian, Examiner, Manx Su , and Mona's Herald. The business of the committee included the accommodation for reporters in the Ramsey and Douglas Court Houses and the need to consider a new phase of the law as to 'libel and imprints'.
