TO THE
ISLE OF MAN;

WITH
NOTICES OF ALL THAT IS NOTABLE, CURIOUS, INTERESTING,
AMUSING, AND INSTRUCTIVE IN THE
MANX KINGDOM;
ALSO
MANY PICTORIAL ILLUSTRATIONS, AND A MAP OF
THE ISLAND

" A blending of beauties-streams and dells,
Fruit, foliage, crag, cornfield mountain vine
And chiefless castles, breathing stern farewells,
From grey but leafy walls, where ruin grimly dwells,"

ABEL HEYWOOD & SON,
56 & 58, OLDHAM STREET, MANCHESTER:
AND THE BOOKSELLERS ON THE ISLAND

[This I assume is the 6d Guide mentioned in Cubbon's Bibliography - Cubbon gives author as Joseph Johnson, first published c.1875 with a 2nd edition in c.1884 - the railway etc information included is dated 1885
compare with the shorter 1d guide with which it appears to share the same title page.
The historical sections are mostly a mishmash of incorrect legendary sources usually derived from earlier guidebooks - the woodblock illustrations are not yet added]
