Re: Radcliffe of Knockaloe and Baron Fitzwalter.

Hi Frances,

Many thanks for your message, and sorry re the delay in replying, but our phone system went sick on Christmas Eve and BT did not botehr to fix it until 29th, so we spent the whole of the Christmas holiday in the stone age, and Elena had to ring her parents from a phone box !

The Radcliffe data sounds very promising and a lot more convincing that the Fitzwalter theory which seems to go on the basis that "Records were patchy in those days so the absence of someone does not mean anything, so we just assume he existed"

My only problem, which is probably because I am a twit when it comes to the net, is that I just cannot seem to access the entry you refer to in the MNB - I just get nowhere. Having been dreagged screaming and kicking into the computer age, there are times that I just cannot fathom something out !

If you can give me a pointer (preferable at the level that would be elementary for the average one year old), that would be great !!

Best wishes for the NEw Year, and a resounding thanks for all you do for me and everyone else. We all owe you an immense debt.

Robert
