Hello Valaory, Just to say that Constance was the sister of Gertrude Canning, there were six children altogether born of Moses and Jane Canning (nee Killip). Constance was adopted after Jane's death and the other three were boarded out. Moses re-married a lady calaled Mary Andrews from Barrow in Furness and I think from the census record this is in 1891, the same year that Jane died. So Constance and Gertrude were sisters, not step sisters.
