I have laid before Viscount Melbourne your letter to me of 10th inst [re] John Chesterman’s charge for the conveyance of one Female convict from the Isle of Man to the Amphitrite Convict ship at Woolwich, and I am directed by ~~ to return John Chesterman’s account to you, and to acquaint you that as His Lordship agrees with you that many of the items in the amount appear to be uncalled for – he requests you will examine the same and report what portion thereof should be defrayed.
