I agree that some of the IOMFHS site is poorly designed. But I also think with a bit of tweaking, most of the clunkiness can be overcome. For example, they should rename "Research" to "databases" or some such. They could improve navigation by creating a static menu bar that's the same across all pages, similar to the one on this page. And of course, they should resize the fonts to make them more readable.

As a side note, hold down the Ctrl button on your keeboard and use the scroll wheel on your mouse to resize the font on any web page.

In my last post, I mentioned ownership. I mean ownership in the sense of stewardship of the information. isle-of-man.com has a handshake deal to maintain this board, but with whom? Other than the advertising banner at the top, which probably provides only nominal (if any at all) ROI from this board, they have no financial incentive to be stewards of the information here. So when I say that the IOMFHS should take ownership, I mean as stewards of the information. We could then provide the financial incentive to either isle-of-man.com or Antell so that the board never gets neglected.

And I didn't mean to suggest that if the board were to be moved over to Antell, that it should be reformatted into the style of the IOMFHS forum or some other format. I mean it should be moved over wholesale - so it will function exactly as it does now by using the same software and database, with the added exception of the couple of security measures and links I mentioned.
