to best of my knowledge Paul's comment is wishfull thinking - the old Duke-run IoM Fam hist site was closed some years ago (it never fulfilled its stated task as a communication mechanism for members but merely as a duplication of posts on this site) - that site's archives were transferred with this site to the new owners who have stated that they will keep the archives - however as this site is run as a free gift (will the small recompense of the advertising banner) I don't want to push too hard
