Re: Thomas BREW
In Response To: Re: Thomas BREW ()

Hello hat, and thank you so much for taking the trouble to post your message. I have been working on the Isle of Man/Liverpool BREW connection for some time, with the aid of contributors to this site. I did not know of the MORGAN and CRITCHLOW witnesses at the Thomas BREW/Ermine PAYNE wedding. I have her death certificate giving it as 12.12.1855 at Pleasant Grove, as you say. However, I did not know of a Thomas baptised 10th May 1807 at St. Peter's Church. As far as I know, the Thomas BREW who was my relation was one of the six children of John BREW the Sailor (Parents William BREW and Ann TEARE of Andreas), and was born 10.8.1760, and christened 30.9.1760 at St. Nicholas Church, Liverpool. His wife was Nancy ( no other details) and his son Thomas, a cordwainer born 6.12.1781. was the husband of Ermine PAYNE.

The problem I am having is the elusive John the Sailor, who, although he had six children, does not seem to have any other details. I am currently working on the wills of William BREW and Ann TEARE of Andreas, who are believed to be his parents. Thank you again for your message - all information gratefully received ! Peter BREW St. Day, Cornwall.
