Hi Barry

The IGI has the Baptism of Edward May 21st 1879 , and you can see the originals , the father is given as Edward , he is a Farmer and lives at Duke Street , Douglas , which does not add up.

On the marriage to Anne Quayle May 15th 1881, in Kirk Bradden Edward is shown as a Labourer , of unreadable Street in Douglas , Father Richard a Smith , Anne is of Lord Street , Douglas , Father John , a Fisherman , Both are of full age and Edward made his "mark" , so could not write.
Also on the IGI for the 1891 Census in Ballakerka, Patrick , IOM, Edward Jnr aged 12 seems to be with Ann Quayle aged 60 and her MIL and DIL , I am thinking this Ann could be the Wife of John and mother of Anne who married Edward snr in 1881.
It was hard to trace what happened to Frances Cowin/ Cowen/Cowan , but the birth does look like Cowan not Curran.
There is a wedding in 1882 on the IOM of a Frances Jane Cowin , with Father James to William James Cottier Quayle , this couple don't seem to have any children on the IOM and seem to disappear.
This Frances seems to have been Baptised July 17, 1859 , to James Cowin and Maria Looney.

I found the half brother Thomas born July 25, 1892 , but could not find Lily.

Cheers
David Dwyer
The IGI also has an Arrival manifest for Edward Jnr , dated August 15 , 1942 in Eastport, Idaho, a Canadian , he appears to be there for 29 days and may be seeking Medical Attention , he gave his DOB as April 21, 1879.
