Re: Clague/Curran
In Response To: Re: Clague/Curran ()

Yes that is the same Mary Ellen Rome. The 1891 census has an Edward Clague age 12 living with a Thomas Griffiths family in Rhoscolyn and he is listed as a visitor. In 1901 he is with the John Gale family as a servant living in Cross Four Ways. Do you know if at that time illegitimates were baptized in the church? Do you know how soon after birth a baptism might take place? The reason for asking is that when I looked at the baptism record for Edward Clague dated in May it is possible that the last name of the mother might be Cowan rather than Curran. As to the possible siblings I did find an Edward Clague m. 188l Anne Quayle and they later had a son Tom and a daughter Lily. Do you think I'm barking up the wrong tree?
