I couldn't face trying to track down all those messages/threads from 2 years ago relating to Ann Mylrea, wife of John Kelly, who was living at 36 Malew St, Castletown in 1851. So I've used my old notes and looked up some New IGI entries to see if it'll all fall into place this time around.
Here's my theory based on IGI and census entries, but it's just speculation.
The Ann Mylrea (age 31 in 1851 and 34 in Sept 1854) was probably the illegitimate daughter of Mary (or more likely a badly written Marg) Shimmin, bap 22 Mar 1820 Malew, and an unidentified Mr Mylrea. The new IGI entry shows that she was single when she married John Kelly, so the Mylrea name isn't from a previous husband.
The Margaret Shimmin b 1794 who I'm suggesting could have been Ann's mother, was probably the eldest daughter of Thomas Shimmin b 1766 and Ann Holmes b 1774. Three other children of Ann Shimmin nee Holmes feature in this puzzle.
1) Eleanor Holmes b 1791, illegitimate, born prior to the marriage of Thomas to Ann in 1793.
2) Robert b 1796, ropemaker, whose first wife was Mgt Crebbin (1794-1832, married 1821) and second wife was Ann Kelly (1816-86, married 1837)
3)Elizabeth b 1807 whose illegitimate daughter was bap Eleanor Shimmin 1829, then re-baptised 1834 naming the father as George Hamilton.
The other person who was pivotal in joining some of the jigsaw pieces together was Sophia Shimmin b 1842, illegitimate daughter of Ann Shimmin and John Kneale. She's the 9 yr old Sophia Kelly listed as daughter of John Kelly and Ann Mylrea/Shimmin in 1851. In 1860 she married (as Sophia Kneale) a soldier, Joseph Barlow.
Looking at the 1841, 1851 and 1861 census entries for this Shimmin family of Malew Street (and sorry it's a bit repetitive):

Robert Shimmin 45 rope maker was a son of Thomas Shimmin and Ann Holmes.
Ann Shimmin (nee Kelly) 30 was the second wife of RS ropemaker.
Robert Shimmin 15 was the son of RS ropemaker and his first wife Mgt Crebbin who died in 1832.
CS 10 and TS 10 were also the children of RS ropemaker and Mgt Crebbin.
