Re: George Day 1841 Census.
In Response To: Re: George Day 1841 Census. ()

Hello Sue.
I found your post very, very interesting. I knew George Day had died on 14th Jan 1848, but I had no idea of the cause of death. Thank you for that informative piece. The possible connection of Janet Campbell Day to the Day family is very intriguing. The only possible member living on the Isle of Man at the time she was married and gave birth to a daughter (to my knowledge) who could have been the husband/father, would have been George Stanley Day (my Grandfather). Son of Richard and Elizabeth Day nee Fargher. George Stanley was born 1886, which would have made him 22 years old in 1908, the year Janet was married. As Janet was 24 years old at the time the age grouping fits. As his name is not included in the 1911 Census one could speculate that the marriage was not a success and George had left. This is pure guesswork on my part at the moment, but Janet's daughters name was Phyllis. When George Stanley married Jessie Louisa Quayle in Birkenhead, Merseyside in 1915, one of his two daughters from that marriage was also named Phyllis...
Anyway, very many thanks for taking the time to help me in my search. It is very appreciated.
Very best wishes,
Sean.
