Here is a little information about this family on the Skillicorn side. (Unfortunately, I cannot identify John Skillicorn's parents)

John Skillicorn (Thomas?) was perhaps born about 1784, and died before the 1841 census. He was perhaps the son of Thomas Skillicorn, baptized at Lonan, August 29, 1785. He married, at Lonan, December 21, 1809, Jane Kewley. She was born about 1786-88, and was buried at Lonan, April 4, 1861, age 73. Her gravestone states she died at Lonan, April 5, 1861, age 75.
John and Jane Skillicorn lived at Gretch Voar.
Jane Skillicorn’s will was dated April 4, 1861, and admitted to probate May 24, 1861. Jane Skillicorn widow of Gretch Vooar, leaves bequests to daughters Margaret Christian, Eleanor Teare, Mary Ann Corkill, granddaughter Margaret Quirk, daughter Elizabeth Kermeen’s children, grandson John James Kermeen, and daughter Jane Skillicorn, who is executrix.

Children of Jane Kewley and John Skillicorn: first two baptized at Kk Michael, last three baptized at Lonan

+ i. Ann Skillicorn was baptized January 22, 1810, and buried at Sephton, Lancashire, May 11, 1848. She married, at Sephton, April 27, 1836, Charles Quirk.

+ ii. Margaret Skillicorn was born at Michael, March 15, 1812, and died at Lonan, January 17, 1883, age 69. She married, at Lonan, July 15, 1852, Thomas Christian.

iii. Jane Skillicorn was baptized February 1, 1815. Jane Skillicorn, Gretch Vooar, daughter of John Skillicorn, farmer, married at Lonan, April 29, 1873, Robert Quirk, farmer, of Ballachoan, Braddan, son of Robert Quirk, farmer.

+ iv. Eleanor Skillicorn was baptized February 1, 1815, and died at Lonan, June 10, 1895, age 78. Eleanor Skillicorn, daughter of John Skillicorn of Gretch Vooar, married, at Lonan, July 22, 1855, William Teare.

+ v. Elizabeth Skillicorn was baptized May 16, 1820, and was buried at Lonan, October 27, 1859. She married, at Lonan, January 7, 1843, Robert Kermeen.

vi. Catherine Skillicorn was baptized July 10, 1823, and was buried at Lonan, June 19, 1824, “infant daughter of J. Skillicorn.”

+ vii. Mary Ann Skillicorn was born about 1826. This baptism was not found. She is, however, mentioned in her mother’s will. Mary Ann Skillicorn married at Lonan, November 24, 1850, Robert Corkill.

Next Generation

Ann Skillicorn (John-Jane Kewley, Thomas?) was baptized at Kk Michael, January 22, 1810. She married, at Sephton, Lancashire, April 27, 1836, widower Charles Quirk. Ann Quirk, 38, of Waterloo, was buried at Sephton, May 11, 1848.
Charles Quirk had married first, at Holy Trinity Church in Liverpool, September 17, 1818, Eleanor Kewley. Ellen Quirk of Great Crosby, was buried at Sephton, September 14, 1834, age 40.
Charles Quirk was a plumber.

Children of Ann Skillicorn and Charles Quirk: (from monumental inscription and Sephton baptisms)

i. Joseph Quirk was born about 1836, died March 11, 1841, and was buried at Lonan, March 16, 1841, age 5 years.

ii. Mary (or Margaret) Ann Quirk, daughter of Charles and Ann Quirk, was born March 21, 1838, and baptized at Great Crosby, Lancashire, April 24, 1838. She is not listed in the 1841 census.

iii. Catherine Quirk was born at Lonan, about 1839, and baptized at Sephton, September 22, 1839, and died at Ballabeg, Lonan, February 4, 1912. With grandmother Jane Skillicorn 1851 census. She married, Toxteth Park, Liverpool, June 1886, Thomas Aspinwall.

iv. Margaret Quirk was born in Liverpool, baptized, daughter of Charles and Ann of Great Crosby, June 25, 1843, and died at Gretch Voar, December 23, 1891, age 48 years. With aunt, Jane Skillicorn 1861 census; with aunt, Margaret Skillicorn 1881 census. Mentioned in grandmother Jane Skillicorn’s will.

v. Charles Quirk, son of Charles and Ann Quirk, was baptized February 11, 1845. Charles Quirk, infant, was buried at Sephton, February 7, 1845 (sic).

vi. Annie Quirk was born at Waterloo, Liverpool, baptized March 8, 1846, and died January 13, 1887, age 40, and is buried at Lonan. She married, at Lonan, June 23, 1872, William Kelly of Glen Drink, Lonan. (With William and Eleanor Tear 1881 census.)

Children of Eleanor Kewley and Charles Quirk: baptized at Sephton

i. Thomas Quirk March 6, 1823

ii. Jane Quirk, daughter of Charles and Ellen of Great Crosby, was baptized July 16, 1826.

iii. Elizabeth Quirk, daughter of Charles and Ellen of Great Crosby, was baptized before March 1829 (can’t read date).

iv. Ellen Quirk, daughter of Charles and Ellen of Great Crosby, was baptized July 31, 1831, and died in Liverpool, June 5, 1898. She married John Aspinwall, son of William and Alice (Gore) Aspinwall. Born in Aughton, Lancashire, 1811, and died in Ormskirk, Lancashire, December 30, 1894.

Margaret Skillicorn (John-JaneKewley, Thomas?) was born at Michael, March 15, 1812, and died at Lonan, January 17, 1883, age 69. She married, at Lonan, July 15, 1852, as his second wife, Thomas Christian, son of James Christian, farmer. He died in Onchan, May 16, 1855, leaving his widow Margaret Christian and four children: James, Thomas, Edward and Catherine Ann. Margaret and the four children were declared joint administrators of the estate; Ann Kennaugh and John Gorrey were named guardians of the children, who were the children of Thomas’ first marriage to Ann Gorrey.
Margaret Christian died intestate. Her niece, Jane Teare of Gretch Voare, was named administratrix.

Eleanor Skillicorn (John-JaneKewley, Thomas?) was baptized at Lonan, February 1, 1815, and died there, June 10, 1895, age 78. Eleanor Skillicorn, daughter of John Skillicorn of Gretch Vooar, married at Lonan, July 22, 1855, William Teare, perhaps the son of William Tear and Jane Corlett, baptized at Ballaugh, February 19, 1817. William Teare, age 73 of Gretch Voar, was buried at Lonan, April 17, 1894.

William and Eleanor Tear lived at Gretch Voar. He was a farmer.

Child of Eleanor Skillicorn and William Teare:

i. Jane Teare was baptized at Lonan, June 8, 1856, and buried there, March 22, 1922, age 65.

Elizabeth Skillicorn (John-JaneKewley, Thomas?) was baptized at Lonan, May 16, 1820, and was buried there, “Elizabeth Kermeen, Cronk-y-Chuile”, October 27, 1859, 39 years. She married, at Lonan, January 7, 1843, Robert Kermeen. He was the son of Edward Kermeen and Ann Carrooin, baptized at Lonan, May 12, 1812, and buried “Robert Edward Kermeen of Gretch Voar”, January 16, 1889, age 77.

Robert Kermeen married second, at Ramsey, April 1, 1865, Margaret Creech, daughter of Robert Creech and Margaret Kelly.
Robert Kermeen lived at Rhaa (?), Cronk-e-Chule, and Gretch Voar.

Children of Elizabeth Skillicorn and Robert Kermeen: baptized at Lonan

i. Robert James Kermeen was baptized June 25, 1843.

ii. John James Kermeen was baptized March 14, 1847.

iii. William Patrick Kermeen was baptized July 8, 1849. William Patrick Kermeen, miner, of Gretch Vooar, son of Robert Kermeen, miner, married at Lonan, February 29, 1872, Ann Callow, a minor. She was the daughter of Robert Callow, miner, of Ballacowle.

iv. Elizabeth Jane Kermeen was baptized October 23, 1853. She married Edward Clucas. Child: John James Clucas, married Annie Kelly, daughter of James and Jane (Cowin) Kelly. (Descendant Barbara Clucas Furshong)

v. Thomas Kermeen was baptized May 4, 1856.

Children of Margaret Creech and Robert Kermeen: baptized at Lonan

vi. Margaret Ann Kermeen was baptized May 14, 1865.

vii. Edward Joseph Kermeen of Gretch Vooar, was baptized June 17, 1866, and buried at Lonan, November 22, 1870, age 4 years 6 months.

viii. Joshua Kermeen of Gretch Vooar, was baptized December 22, 1867, and buried at Lonan, February 10, 1868, age 10 weeks.

ix. Isabella Kermeen was baptized September 26, 1869.

x. Edward J. Kermeen was baptized October 29, 1871.

Mary Ann Skillicorn (John-JaneKewley, Thomas?) was born about 1826-7, and died at Lonan, March 21, 1910, age 83. She married at Lonan, November 24, 1850, Robert Corkill, son of Robert Corkill, laborer. He was born at Maughold, about 1833, probably the son of Robert Corkill and Cath Kermeen, baptized at Maughold August 3, 1834. He died at Lonan, May 21, 1891, age 58.

Robert and Mary Ann Corkill lived at Gretch Vane and Laxey.

i. Robert Joseph Corkill, illegitimate son of Mary Skillicorn, was baptized August 12, 1849.

ii. Jane Corkill was baptized September 7, 1851.

iii. John James Corkill was baptized February 18, 1855, and died at Agneash, May 4, 1922, age 67. He married, at Braddan, September 24, 1891, Lydia Lewin. Children: Lydia Florence; Elsie Myrtle;

iv. William E. Corkill was baptized at Maughold, February 15, 1852.

v. Thomas Henry Corkill was baptized January 16, 1859.

vi. George Corkill was baptized September 30, 1860.

vii. Margaret Ann Corkill was born about 1862.

viii. Charles Corkill was baptized November 6, 1864.

ix. Frederick Corkill was baptized September 2, 1866.

x. Alice Louisa Corkill was baptized June 21, 1868, and died at Lonan, November 29, 1965, age 97. She married _____ Brew.

xi. David Corkill was born about 1871.

xii. Albert C. Corkill was born about 1873.
