must admit I hadn't checked if JMO had already sent me a transcript! - I was working from a photo from microfilm (one of a large number still on my 'todo' pile - have now relooked at it - yes Wm is more likely reading than Jon - catch is no other 'W' to check but looks different than 'J' in John where name spelled out in full and the squiggle after the 'o' is raised - it's easy to make mistakes in these early films especially as sometimes the filming is not that good tho in this case my mistake
