Re: Olive Qualtrough-Robert Hudgeon

Thanks for your response David. I keep going back to this loose end from time to time and have much of what you included., including the Salmon arm connections.

My problem is that I seem to have the IOM part regarding Olive Kermode-Qualtrough then her marriage to a Robt Hudgeon. Also the Robt Hudgeon-Catherine Clague IOM connection; which I think, given the children's names & ages fits with the Robt Hudgeon that appears in the 1911 & 1916 Census, and as you say, is probably the family that ends up in British Columbia.

What I'm not sure about is whether I can positively connect the Robt Hudgeon that was married to Catherine (Clague) Hudgeon that died in 1900 with Olive Qualtrough. I guess its possible that they got married in 1906 and went their separate ways without getting divorced; and then Robt gets married to another Catherine w/o being divorced. I do haver several ship lists of Olive (Qualtrough) Hudgeon travelling to and from England and the US in 1914, 1923 etc. with her daughter. She uses the Hudgeon surname and married; I also have a headstone of Olive Qualtrough Hudgeon from Wisconin 1942 (albeit difficult to read), so it appears they did not get divorced.

Although I have seen a fair bit written about the Joseph Olive Qualtrough and Robert Hudgeon mentioned, I haven't seen mention of his fate. Being located in BC I might pursue the BC vital stats to see if there is anything more definitive there.
