Re: Lonan MI for KERMODE please

Donna
Thank you very much, not only for the clarification/confirmation of the MI for Margaret Killip et al but also the other MIs (Noah, William, Sophia) whom I believe are also within my tree.

You probably already have the MI, but I believe the following is for my gg father Joseph Kermode, who left his family in Canada to return to IOM in 1922 where he died and was buried:
"In loving memory of Joseph Kermode of Laxy who died Nov. 20, 1933 aged 79 years, a kind friend. Not lost but gone before. Happy Home"
Also Kermode, Joseph 79, Lonan, 22 Nov 1933 (Lawson's burial records)

So at this time I have 3 references for Margaret Killip's death/burial:
1. the MI with a death date of "2nd day of November 1835" and age 32
2. her will signed on her apparent death bed "12th day of November 1835"
3. her burial date of "24 Nov 1835, age 33" (Lawson's Burial registry)

Perhaps academic and one just goes with the use of the appropriate references when citing a death date, but seems the most logical is a death date of 22nd Nov 1835 (with burial 2 days later), given the dating of her will (unless of course it was dated after her death). I would also presume that burials in those days normally occurred within several days, not weeks after death.

Regarding U11: daughters of William and Ann Kermode, would you happen to have an MI for William and/or Ann Kermode. I would like to confirm that William was the son of Margaret Killip and Daniel Kermode, buried at Lonan 30 August 1910.

For Sue et al, I noticed listings of wills for Sophia Kermode (1916) and William (1910) and will try to obtain and post these at the same time I get those for Daniel and Eleanor Kermode. This may help in making connections between them.
