Re: Sarah Jane Kermode
In Response To: Re: Sarah Jane Kermode ()

Thanks Sue
The marriage for Daniel & Ellinor Kermode is as you indicated, I will puruse getting the LDS record

Thanks for the Lawson index for Daniel's will, it looks like the one, as I have Daniel death as 1873, I must have overlooked the entry when I looked earlier.

This is the MI that I have for Margaret/Daniel/Eleanor et al:
"Erected in memory of MARGARET KERMODE alias KILLIP wife of DANIEL KERMODE, joiner of LAXY who departed this life on the 2nd day of Nov. 1835 aged 32 years. Also JOHN & THOMAS son's of the above who died infants. Also DANIEL KERMODE, husband of the above who departed this life 24th of May 1873 aged 80 years. Also ELEANOR KERMODE, 2nd wife of the above who died Nov 1st 1892 aged 80 years "Her End Was Peace""
A CAUTION: I OBTAINED THIS FROM MY BROTHER & COUSIN WHO TRANSCRIBED THE MI DURING A VISIT TO IOM several years ago. ACCORDINGLY, I CANNOT VOUCH FOR THE ACCURACY OF THE INFORMATION. For example, Margaret (Killip) Kermode's Will that ;says it was signed on 12 Nov 1835 and I therefore wonder if her death date should be 22 Nov rather than the 2 Nov 1835 date indicated. [The 22nd Nov date would also be more consistent with Brian Lawson's Nov 24th burial date]. I may have to pursue this further.

As per the above, Eleanor Kermode death date on the MI was Nov 1st 1892..

Regarding the 3 children who died as infants:
It would appear that the first (11 May 1835) may well have been s/o Margaret and Daniel (either the John or Thomas) referred to in the MI, however, not sure about the 2nd (died 13 Aug 1840) since it was after Margaret's death, unless the MI was in error and this was a s/o Daniel and Elleanor. The 3rd could be the d/o Daniel & Eleanor, but not included on the MI.

Anyways, lots of items to pursue. As suggested I will post any wills I obtain/transcribe. Thanks again. It's been great.
