Dear Frances,
Thank you for replying, and I will addresa again, PATRICK CAIN SR, came in AUGUSTA COUNTY, VIRGINIA The earliest record of him show on MARCH 11,1746 Thomas Lewis, surveyed a plat of 200 acres for him, Page 27 Surveyor's notebook and on December 11th 1749 he received a land grant for 200 acrs on CEDAR SPRING on the HUNTER'S SPRING DRAFT, LAND ENTRY BOOK NO/ 1 AUGUSTA COUNTY, VIRGINIA The last record of him being in Augusta County was in 1754 when his name appeared in a petition to censure an individual for his bullying behaviour. His property was unoccupied in 1757. Before that he had on MARCH 30, 1750 another survey done by THOMAS LEWIS for 220 acres in Augusta County, Virginia. His occupation was famer, apparently PATRICK JR, learned his surveying skills under Thomas Lewis and , Patrick Senior received another land grant in 600 acres in 1760, he never claimed, by then he must have left the vicinity. It is by certain the in the WAXHAW SETTLEMENT in NC/SC by 1762 his daughter ALICE married NATHANIEL WALKER Jr. Patrick SENIOR died about 1799 by a a will executed his name was stated thereby, his son PATRICK JR, who was killed by the Tories, had been dead 20 years, PATRICK CAIN JR , AND NATHANEAL WALKER SR, were both surveyors, and served in the same MILITIA, in the NORTH CAROLINA MILITIA for ANSON COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA shows PATRICK NEXT TO NATHANAEL. Alice CAINE married NATHANIEL WALKER JR who had been lving in the WAXHAW SETTLEMENT, MEKLENBURG CO.NC later ANSON COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA, PATRICK JR, MARRIED MOLLY GRIFFIN IN 1771, IN 1773 PATRICK JR, RECEIVED A ROYAL GRANT FOR 200 ACRES ON FORKS CREEK, 100 ACRES FOR HIMSELF AND 50 FOR HIS WIFE AND 100 ACRES FOR HIMSELF AND 50 FOR EACH CHILD, WHICH WERE JOHN AND WILLIAM , WHICH I AM OFF JOHN. IN 1775 PATRCIK CAIN JR SERVED AS DEPUTY SURVEYOR FOR ORANGBURG DISTRICT, SOUTH CAROLINA, LIVED IN THE AREA OF SALKHATCHEE AND EDISTOR RIVERS, HE BECAME AN OFFICER AND JOINED UNER CAPTAIN ANDREW CUMMING'S COMPANY OF VOLUNTEER MILITIA, ON THE NINTH DAY OF 1775, HIS NAME APPEARS ON THE ORIGINAL PETITION TO THE CONTINENTAL CONGRESS, HE WAS APPOINTED FIRST LIEUTENENT, THE UNIT WAS UNDER THE FIELD OFFICERS OF THE COLLETON COUNTY REGIMENT OF FOOT(2). IT IS KNOW HE WAS ELECTED TO THE THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY 1779-80; IN 1781 A PORTION OF THE COLLETON REGIMENT OF FOOT UNER PATRICK'S COMMAND WAS AMBUSHED BY A BAND OF TORIES UNDER THE COMMAND OF COL. HEZEKIAH WILLIAMS, A FEARED TORY, NEAR THE BANKS OF THE SOUTH EDISTO RIVER AT WINDY HIL CREEK NEAR HEALIING SPRINGS, HOME OF PATRICK'S SISTER, ALCIE CAINE WALKER , HE WAS KILLED AND BURIED 3 DAYS LATER BY HIS WIFE UNDER A TREE THAT HAD BEEN ROOTED UP IN A STORM.

Frances, I am not going any further, this is not a cheering game for two cheeleaders on a genealogy court, I have praised your work and have upmost respect for you and your works, as stated your own works prove what JOHN WILBY CAINE did for us, he did his work and we going to stand by it, for records here in AMERICA prove PATRICK SENIOR AND PATRICK JR, AND ALICE came here, lived here, married here, had children and died here and are buried here, I am proud of my heritage and we were not slaves , we were not WEST INDIES SLAVE OWNERS, as you have e-mailed this me before, we are not IRISH, we are MANX and YES I PUT ALL THE EMPHASIS on the WORDS OF MY FAMILY MEMBERS WHO HAVE DIGNITYAND PRIDE AND PUT THE EMPHASIS ON THE BIBLE, FOR I KNOW AND BELIEVE THE WORDS THAT SHALL BE WRITTEN THEREIN. RECORDS HERE PROVE THAT PATRICK CAME, AND HIS FATHER WAS ADAM CAINE AND HIS MOTHER ANNE CORLETT, HIS FAMILY MIGRATED HERE, AND THEY HAVE MADE A WONDERFUL LIFE HERE. I HAVE SAID I HAVE NOTHING BUT RESPECT FOR YOU AND YOUR WORKS and they, themselves are NOT COMPLETE BECAUSE RECORDS ARE MISSING, BUT JOHN WILBY CAINE found our data, did his homework and I feel that a man that lived at the MUSEUM as his son stated to me in his e-mail in his latter days of retirement, and did his own tree and did our tree, was of man of research, he did not just not throw a bunch of mumbo-jumbo together, he did his research and I know that we are grateful to him and regret he is gone and cannot speak for himself.

Please know I am not on a genealogy court, playing sides tit for tat, I have always praised you and your works, and find you are not always right, also, so I will leave it at that, and I, as always,I leave the invitation to tea when we arrive and show you our documents, face to face.

Kindly yours,

Mrs Rosa
