alice garrett married a patk cain in Ballaugh 9 feb 1741 - in reg pc is of lezayre;ag of ballaugh
alice was I think bur Bal 17670430 - I could find no children but in defuncts (ie list of those dead since last circuit) noted as widow [in defuncts may 1767 - pauper]
thus I suspect another patron was also confused - the key I think is to follow the land - eg in the Knockan/Ravensdale Cain the land went to the eldest dau thus there could have been no son (nor any of his legitimate offspring) alive at the time - if any son was however not on the Island the transfer would have have reserved any right (and there would need be some request for administration of his estate so that the transfer to the sibling could be legalised.
