Re: Alice d/o WmCaine/Alice Looneyl

I reorganised my will summaries to make make easier to find + to reduce size of files -

This Ann Cain als Corlet was discussed before but to make my arguments clear + note that her will does not name her husband
Ann Cain als Corlett's will 1738
d 12 sep;dau elinor cain,margt quiggin als cain (son wm) [margt cain m john quiggin Mic 17080831] ;
gch john cain,pat cain(sheep between her + Gilbt Corlet),joney cain;
dau-i-law ann cain;son patk cain exec

Ann Corlett was in my opinion wife of John Cain - likely children Elinor bapt Mic 16860903, Margt bapt Mic 16880903, Patk Mic 16930806 - no marriage found but if Ann was from Ballaugh then marriage reg missing for this period

old deed #69 Michael is a m/c for Patt Caine + Joney Quayle - summary -
dated 2 nov 1717;john caine + ann als corlett obo son pat;elinr quayle obo dau joney(her fa dead);to marry before st thomas day at kk michl;Caines to give half land;elinr to over + above joney's fa share 40s + bed etc;witt tho quayle x;jo caine x;court may 1718
This + will of ann Caine als corlet indicates ann's husband was John - no marriage found but elinor, margt + Patt appear to be bapt between 1686 + 1693 - there might be a deceased son wm as there is a bapt of a wm to a john caine just before this - my own guess given absence of marr is that Ann came from Ballaugh whose marr reg is missing

Patt + Joney had at least 3 ch john,jony + patrick

joney caine als quayle buried Mic 17250123 (which explains why just 3 children) and burial reg has b'curloed - her will d 23 jan 1724;sis-i-law elinor;mo-i-law alive;bro-i-law wm;husb patk;unnamed ch ua uncles John + hugh Quayle;witt Tho Corlet x + Wm Quayle x both sick + dangerously ill by probate in Feb;

it would appear that patt married again to ann corlett by 1734 as they have several children (some indicated b'curleod in register) upto 1744 - this explains the dau-i-law ann cain in her mo-in-law's will
Pat's 2nd wife died 31 mar 1756 (indicated b'curleod in bur reg)- will d end mar;dau elizth,ann,ellinr (younger);son philip (+ his ch)[?bapt];husb pat

Pat Cain 1765 - d 20 sep 1765;ballacurleod;dau ann,elinor,elizth exex;son patt
I wonder if Patt is the pat cain who fathered an illeg child wm cain on Ellen Freer in 1731 - illeg; patrick cain of Kk Michael, ef of kk german

Thus all the names in Ann Cain als Corlett's will are compatible with the Ballcurleod family - their land holding can be traced

Looking at the 1704 composition book we have
Jo Caine Miller for halfe of a tenement called BallaCurleod cont halfe a quarter of land of 17s 4d double rent compounded for in 1643 by William Curlett.
which looks as though may be the caine corlett connection

Lib Vast - looking at Ballacurleod which is in Treen of Ballanymade (or Bargarrow) - it forms the first half of the 34s 8d rent (double rent - this is post 1702) - associated with this farm were intacks 3d + 1.5d numbered 29 on the post 1704 numbering (#27 in 1706 which did not number 2 that were not rented)
in 1709 John Caine milnr 17s 4d in ballacurleod + also the intacks
1716 still John Caine milner but indicated that a change was to be made in the next book
my next transcription was 1740
now ballacurleod was John caine milner + patt his son in ballacurleod and john caine grandson of john caine milner in the intacks with a change noted to Ballacurleod passing through court in 1741 - possibly this was death of John caine snr
john Cain jnr acquiring the intacks looks rather like a marr contract - there is one NSS May 1738 24 for John Cain + Cath Siddleton who m Mic 17360219 but is bur Mic 17310314(ns) with a will but no children I can see. He must have remarried but not yet determined to whom

in the 1750 book patt caine is shown against Ballacurleod with john caine gson of john milner in intacks
in the 1760 book patt caine is shown as a changei in 1766 with john gson still in intacks

In 1780 book John cain jnr is in Ballacurleod (I don't have intacks for this book)
