Re: Corletts in northeastern Ohio

Re: Margaret Corlett married at Ballaugh, May 1, 1813 to Daniel Corlett. You are correct. It seems likely that she is NOT the Margaret Corlett christened in 1798 (too young). I am not sure why I thought that; unfortunately I did not give my source or reasoning.

If she was really 57 in 1850, 67 in 1860, a birth date about 1793 would be right. I didn't find any Margarets born in Ballaugh at that time period.

1841 Ballaugh census (Ballathoar --not sure of this name): Daniel Corlett 50; Margaret 48; Jane 16. Catherine 13; Henry 10 [where are John 24, Daniel 21 ?]

1850 Warrensville census # 3260: Daniel Corlett 62 farmer IOM; Margaret 57 IOM; John C. 34 farmer IOM; Catharine 21 IOM; Henry 18 IOM

1860 Warrensville census # 214: John C. Corlett 42 farmer IOM; Cora M. 4 Ohio; Sanferd S. 3 Ohio; Daniel 71 IOM; Margaret 67 Ohio.

1870 Warrensville census # 90: John Corlett 52 IOM; Mary 35 Ohio; Cora 15 Ohio; Sanford 13 Ohio; Hewett 8 Ohio; John 6 Ohio; Daniel 84 farmer IOM.
Thank you again for your knowledgeable input. If you have ideas for further leads, I would be happy to know them.
