Re: Caesar Cain(e)/Jane Joughin
In Response To: Caesar Cain(e)/Jane Joughin ()

Hi Donna
Just in case you're also related to Caesar, I'll give you my lineage.
My great great grandfather, & 7th child of Caesar and Jane, is James Henry Cain who was with his father, step-mother Ann Shimmin and brother William at Ballagyrr for the 1841 census.
In 1851, James, a master shoemaker was in Stretford, England staying with a Blackburn family from IOM.
In 1853 he married Elizabeth Blackburn in Manchester, whose father John was a shoemaker from Ballasalla (perhaps James was his apprentice?).
They had 3 sons, James, William and Edwin before Elizabeth died in 1864. James Henry never remarried, and died in Broughton, Salford in 1897.
My line follows William, a brass founder in Salford (where the family remained), who married Hannah Hurley. Their 4th child Robert was my grandfather. He was a crane driver, and the second husband of Henrietta Robinson (nee Radcliffe).
My dad, Robert, born in 1909, was the youngest of their family group, with 1 sister and 5 step-siblings. He was a highly skilled carpenter and french-polisher, and a very lovely man. He married Jenny Washington in 1938 and I was born in 1945. Dad died from lung cancer in 1984.
I lived around the Greater Manchester area. I have 3 children and 4 grandchildren by my first marriage, and I worked in education until retiring and moving to central Italy with my 2nd wife Julie in 2006.
Hope this helps.
Please let me know if we're related!
