Re: JOUGHIN LACE SAYLE Andreas
In Response To: Re: JOUGHIN Andreas ()

Brian Lawson has pointed out that I wrote "The five surviving children of Charles Joughin & Ann Thorp were...." but listed only four of them.

This was the fifth:

[5] Catherine b.Nov.1682, died 7th., bur.8 April 1721. [Will Arch. No.27 Andreas: to her son William McNameer, son Patrick McNameer her exec. To her brother Philip Joughin… to her sister Ann … to her sister Nelly… to her father.. Bahey Lace…
6 Decr 1731 Patrick McNameer son & exec of Cath Joughin ackn. to be fully paid… from the hands of his supervisor Philip Kneale….
At Ballaugh May 21 1726 Wm McNameer of Ballaugh ackn. to have recd for his son Wm Mcnameer now in Ireland… legacy left to his sd son by his mother Cath Joughin…]

Charles & Ann’s children who died young: William b.1671- bur.28 Mar.1673,
Joney b. & bur.1676. Andreas burials: “Jony Joughin Daur of Charles Augt 27 1676”.

This JOUGHIN family was of Balladaughan, and of Smeal, Andreas, and also descended from LACE of Ballaseyr. They were also closely connected to the Sayles of Larivane, Andreas, with Bahee (Lace) Joughin having the "Right to ye profits of John Sayle's Estate of Larivane" [1734], and later Andrew Joughin b.1728 marrying Joney Sayle of Larivane in 1757.
