Re: Clague/Rome/Quayle/Kelly?
In Response To: Re: Clague/Moore/Quayle ()

In re-reading this post it is clear that I was not very specific in my request. In previous posts I was trying to find Edward Clague b. IOM abt 1880; he married Mary Ellen Rome in 1906 (Maughlold) and they later immigrated to Canada. Several thoughts were posed as to his idendity including that he was possibly born after the 1881 census. The 1911 Cenus indicates he was b. Mar 1879 in Patrick, IOM. Further family information states he had a brother Tom (b. 1892) and a sister Lily (possibly) Isabella Louisa Clague (b. 1889). His father has been identified as Edward Clague, labouer. I have been unable to find his mother's name. The 1901 IOM census shows Tom and Lily, living with siblings Willam (b. abt 1882) and Phillip (b. abt 1897) and parents Edward (b. 1851) and Annie (b. 1861) living in Conchan.
I can locate an Edward b. 1879 in the 1881, 1891 and 1901 census but he is not living with parents. In 1891 an Edward 12 years old, is a "visitor" at the home of Ann Quayle (60), Isabella Kelley (mother in law 88), Alice Quayle (dau in law 27), all located in Patrick. In 1881 a 2 year old Edward is a "lodger" in the home of Eleanor Kelly in Douglas. In 1901 he is a servant.
Question, is it possible that he senior Edward was married to a woman named Kelly and that she died about the time Edward was b. in 1879? Then could the senior Edward m. Annie (Quayle?) in 1881 and started a new family?
Thanks for your patience and assistance.
