Re: A move to the island?
In Response To: Re: A move to the island? ()

You have been busy Jean to which I do appreciate. I have seen that family in the early days of looking for William Henry Cox but I eliminated it because WHC's dad was called Thomas and also he was a jeweller according to the marriage certificate of WHC.

I am sure now that I have the correct family for WHC the problem basically is this William Cox was baptised William with no middle name, I just feel that he added that at a later age. I found a William Henry Cox only last July he was living on the Isle of Man for the 1901 census with a 'wife' I say wife like that because she was not his wife no marriage has ever been found and there was even a newspaper (from the Isle of Man 1895/96) report where there was an allegation made that she was not the wife of William Henry Cox. Anyway I have found a John Brotherton Cox who was neighbours with a Charles Benjamin Whorell on the Isle of Man, I have traced this John B Cox back to England, Warwickshire Birmingham, the same as my WHC and I believe he is related to my WHC. I think I know how they are related, but I would like opinions as to what other folk think about it. Are they related ............?

Jean if you are still up for this massive challenge I will email you my information on it tomorrow. In the meantime it would be really helpful if anyone else would like to read it and tell me what they think.
