Re: Alma Talbot Craine

Thank you so much Sue, for finding the two other children and, sadly, their deaths. What a horrendous year for Alma Talbot!
Trying to piece things together, Alma Talbot Stowell is living with her mother and family until her marriage to Bernard Arthur Sept 1881.
Bernard Arthur is an apprentice druggist with Alma's grandfather and uncle in Ramsey in 1871 but is missing in the 1881 census, reappearing when he marries Alma in sept. He is a bachelor on his marriage cert. and having been so closely tied with the Stowell family I am sure they would have known if he had been married before. After their marriage they go to live in Parliament St, Ramsey where he had lived with the Stowells.
By 1891 Alma is nowhere to be found on the island.
In 1891, Bernard Arthur is a lodger at 1 Stanley Mount in Douglas, with his sister Ellen and a child Mona (I believe this to be daughter Dorothy). Robert Edward, his son, is with B's other 2 sisters in Ramsey.
In 1901 Bernard is living by himself at Ballamanagh Cottage, Lezayre, still as a druggist. Son Robert is with Bernard's sisters Kathleen and Isabella at 32 Waterloo Rd, Ramsay and Dorothy is with the third sister Ellen at 2, May Hill, Ramsey.
In 1911 Bernard Arthur is in Ramsey Cottage hospital and dies days after the census.
Now Alma Talbot Craine has turned up in NSW in 1890!
