Dear Mr. Corlett,

I hope have been into the ELECTRONIC COMPENDIUM, the CORLETT /CAIN connection is very strong, BALLAUGH PARISH AND MICHAEL PARISH, is where my CORLETTS AND CAINS came from. I went to the PARISH data many times in the last weeks, as I stated, intermarriage on the Isle had to be due to the closeness of families within Parishes. Many do not agree with me on this stance, but I shall tell you once you begin your ancestry research on the Isle YOU WILL FIND THE SPELLING OF NAMES CHANGE FROM CENTURY TO CENTURY, as you stated that JONEY has been changed perhaps to JUDITH. believe me that is true, as has last names and Mc, dropped from names, IT IS LIKE WHEN IMMIGRANTS CAME HERE TO AMERICA, MY HUSBAND'S PEOPLE ARE FROM SICILY, EVERYONE THINKS HE IS SPANSIH BECAUSE THE LAST NAME IS ROSA, IT WAS REALLY RAZZIA, BUT WHEN HIS FAMILY CAME FROM SICILY IT WAS CHANGED AT ELLIS ISLAND. I still say you could have intermarried very easily on the Isle as with all Isle living, and even here in the states, in the early 1920's many rural families married their 1st cousins, for they had no one else to marry. So it is challenging to ever find a TRUE GENEALOGY TREE, as stated EVEN KINGS, had their fancy for those not to be partaken of. So we must know that at best we can only trace what is passed down by names, not blood, for blood was not told many times because perhaps that blood would bring shame. Tis true that we can find what is passed down verbally and lviing and tombstones, but actual blood lines are quite far and inbetween, the JEWS, have the most kept blood lines, but even so now many of those lines have been lost through HITLERS' destruction of so many families. I have found even in my CAIN LINE, family members, many that are not actual bloodlines, but we must allow for all to be included in. It is the most exciting experience you will ever have in finding your lines, and once you start, the fever has begun and it is very hard to stop, until you reach the zenith of knowing everything you think, and then, here comes another line , another relative, another and another, it is endless. The chase is wonderful, and so many loved ones and non-famliy, researchers, genealogist have helped me, never could you ever pursue this adventure alone, but we must all share, which is what this board is all about, sharing, caring and giving and taking. I thank God I found it, by accident, surfing years ago and found this wonderful site and it has been a gold mine as I stated. I do hope you do your homework, for we must all search our trees and give and take with those we share with. We never get something for nothing in this life, so as is with this board, sharing is wonderful and the volunteers on this website have done so much for all, I commemd them and thank them and as I stated, I didn't fully understand the use of the board , but I learned, and I was the ugly AMERICAN in the beginning, I believe, and then I learned MANX WAYS, and then it all came together. So I hope you do take advantage of the MANX NOTEBOOK, it is MANX HEAVEN on earth, so much knowledge and data as stated. So enjoy it and use it as a tool to research your line, I sure have.

Take care,

Mrs. Rosa
