My g-grandfather was John McKneal (b.1849) one of 11 children of Thomas
McKneale and Anne Moore of Gretch Voare, Lonan. Their daughter Hannah
(b.1842) married William Fargher (Faragher). I am intrigued by the
similarity of the farm names as well as the Fargher/Faragher name and
wonder if there is a connection. John emmigrated to Australia in 1875
where he settled and married Elizabeth Jones. He changed the spelling of
McKneal to McNeil which was my maiden name.
