My uncle, Serjt. Hugh Cruse of "B" Coy, 2/7th Bn. Lancashire Fusiliers, was killed on 9th Oct., 1917 at age 21. He is remembered by his family and on the wall of the Tyne Cot Memorial Part V1 {UK}. My wife and I visited the site during the summer of 1998 and were overawed by what we saw. Uncle Hugh's brothers all joined up soon after he did but served in the Canadian Army. Our family are very interested in family history , particularly Hugh's as we have his medals etc. as well as the Memorial Register which my grandparents gave to me. This is why I looked for a web page on the internet as a follow-up to what we know through family stories about Hugh. I noticed a message on your listing from someone who noted the same date as that on which Hugh was killed.
