It would appear that Harrison had not done any research into this Society (or Committee) nor into a similar organisation in Ramsey - both were established several years prior to the 1875 date - possibly 1875 was that of some newspaper article. The relevant section of the 1879 Medical Aid and Poor Relief Commission report gives considerably more information
