With no records of the Club's constitution or ongoing business apart from newspaper reports of the members' public appearances and occasional major grievances it is possible only to give a bare outline of its usual round of anniversary ceremonial in common with other societies.
The club centred its religious observance on Kirk Braddan church, but had its clubroom in Society Lane, Douglas, in the heart of the town, presumably, on that account taking the whole of the then parish, town and country, as its catchment area. With a member in public dispute over benefit payments as early as 1810, its first year of existence, the Club operated for 37 years until 1847, when it was reported in the Manx Sun of 2 October 1847 that the elderly membership, finding their subscriptions insufficient for its solvency, had opted to divide the funds among the members, each one taking £4.
