Re: TAYLOR & GILL
In Response To: Re: TAYLOR & GILL ()

Hello David:

My apologies for butting in on this thread, however I’m interested in your
Thomas Gill (brother to Hugh) who emigrated to Victoria, Australia and married Jane Purvis. Would you be willing to share dates and/or places of birth, marriage, death.? My email address is pat.galovich@gmail.com.

I have a Will dated 1876 in the name of Thomas Gill which mentions a spouse named Martha and children Thomas, Henry and Elizabeth (Cooper).

Also, a Will in the name of John Gill dated 1889 referring to his wife Eliza Amelia Gill and a son named John James Gill.

A third Will in the name of Edward Gill dated 1891.

All three individuals were residing at Webster Street in Sandhurst (Bendigo), Victoria at the time of their deaths, so no doubt related?

My connection is through Hugh Gill b. 1798, the father of Mary Jane Gill who was the 2nd wife of Edward Kenyon (my 3rd grt granduncle).

There are other GILL Last Wills and Testaments available on the website of the Public Record Office Victoria at www.access.prov.vic.gov.au/public/PROVguides/PROVguide023/PROVguide023.jsp. You are probably already aware of this wonderful site, but if not I’m sure you will find it a valuable resource
