thanks for that; I was chary about the ancestry of Catherine Clucas, as there were a great many ifs and buts. I will follow up your lead when I can, though it will have to be an "on line" search for the moment, as we are not going to be able to get over to the island until September, as I think it is better if Alexandra Amy is four months before she puts to sea !!

Anastasia is showing distinct nautical proclivities, for boats have now replaced ducks as her favouite bath toy, and we have several paintings of Steam Packet ships in the house, and she looks at them and announces "boat".

As John Joughin owned a Peel fishing boat, it is really quite appropriate that one of his descndants is "into" boats.
