Has anyone any information on Robert Corran,my gg grandfather who was married in Liverpool in 1827 to Catherine Cain. He was a shipwright/carpenter. Are there any records of shipwrights on the IOM at that time?
There is no trace of him in the Liverpool directories for 1829 and 1832. I wondered if he had returned to the IOM.
They had a son,also Robert, born in December 1833, christened in St Mathews Douglas 1835. I think they had a son and daughter born prior to 1833 but have no namesand can trace no record of them.
Has anyone done any research on the Corran family tree? The family owned fishing boats/rowing boats in Douglas harbour in the 20th century.
