Re: Fell or Fayle
In Response To: Re: Fell or Fayle ()

Most children with first name Christian in Scotland and IOM are girls. My Scottish g-g-grandmother was one. I think the male version of Christian came from Scandanavia.

Regarding children of Robert FELL & Jane KEWLEY md Rushen 22 Jun 1831, I have:
1. Elizabeth 9 Jun 1832 St Mary's Castletown
2. Catharine 24 Aug 1834 Malew
3. Ann 20 Nov 1836 Malew and bd 14 Aug 1838 Malew
4. William 29 Sep 1839 St Mary's Castletown
5. Ann 15 May 1842 Malew
6. Jane 13 Oct 1844 Malew. Her daughter Paulina was bp 28 Aug 1864 Malew
7. John Joseph bp 28 Jan 1849 Malew
8. Robert bp 13 Jun 1852 Malew

Elizabeth was baptized twice. The second time was with younger sister Catharine. They had changed parishes, so maybe they were unsure about the first baptism? Who knows.

I have a mystery person with this family. In 1861 census, most of the family is there and then there's a boarder Thomas Fell age 5 Scholar b Malew. I can't figure out who he is. By 1881 he's a Baker 26, married with kids, in Toxteth Pk
