I don't know whether you are still interested in the John James Boyde who was in the Australian Army in WW1, but if so, the 42 pages of his service record are online at:

He says he was born in Ramsey, and his next of kin mother M Kelly of Ballama Cottage, Ballaugh village, Isle of Man. He was aged 27 2/12 on enlistment 4 Feb.1916 at Blackboy Hill Western Australia. He was in the 51st battalion, A.I.F., and died of wounds received in action on 27th Sept 1917, in Belgium.
