Thank you for wanting to serve people with your skills in this area. What ever you can do to help would, from my point of view, be most welcomed.

I have been contributing to this board and in debt to other's help on this board for many years now and to be honest I don't feel that that gives me more rights that someone who has only just joined to say how things should go. My only request would be to keep in mind that some of us are not as good on the computer as others and so simple to use sites are definitely welcomed.

I am so indebted to many folk on this site who, through patience and care have helped me find ancestors and current relatives that I didn't even know I had. I do find it interesting from time to time, in the course of an electronic message the written words that some folk use definitely come across as harsh and/or critical. I realize that there are those on this board who are very experienced at genealogy research but I expect for the majority of us it is a part time hobby that we get great delight in when we find a link to a lost ancestor through someone else's assistance. It's sad to read the way some folk answer requests for help and assistance with what comes across as a slap on the wrist for not placing said request in the correct place or thread. Perhaps a little kindness could ensue remembering that all most of us want is the same thing, a connection with the past, an understanding of those that came before us, and who they were.

The fact Paul, that you wish to do this to help is enough of a motivation for me to give you my support and though I am not an active member at the moment I hope that this doesn't exclude folk like me from having an opinion!

Thank you for the time you have taken in trying to get a general consensus of what the majority wants. At the end of the day you can't please everybody most of the time! Change is hard, it's not about not changing things if they're not broken. If this was the case we would still be living in caves eating raw meat! I have no authority on this board but like many others, just another opinion!
