It always seems strange that some people think I'm trying to poach people away, do things against peoples wishes, or harm things in some way, but ALL I'm trying to do is SUGGEST things, that MAY or may not have been considered before.
David Le Prevost wrote to me asking for my views and thats why I wrote what I did. I could have popped round to see him, said a few ideas and he might have done what I asked, but I didn't. I believe that being up front is the right thing to do and to get the view points of this fantastic board.

If David hasn't already read these postings, then these are the findings as recorded in this thread so far .

5 x Leave it alone/Keep it simple/User friendly
1 x Wants IOM Mapping service link
2 x Wants Need Content
5 x Doesn't want page cluttered with icons/advertisements
3 x Wants clear white background for clarity/no fancy pictures
1 x Wants to see whats new
1 x Wants to search archives
1 x Wants to post or not post a response
2 x Doesn't want fancy sites
1 x Wants a sticky message so that long term info is at top
1 x Wants 'Possibly' a login
1 x Wants Newcomers to get a welcome page
1 x Wants a basic info page
1 x Doesn't want photo's posted (p_orn, high cost)
1 x Keep things simple as people are not all on broadband or capped
1 x Wants caution over links (ref Nigel's old site)
2 x Wants tab for Frequently asked questions
1 x Wants Gedcom files - particularly if sourced
1 x Wants link to FHS – in particular to Research page
1 x Wants message you are responding to on the 'Post Response Page'

Like I said, we all want facts and the above are facts that you either want or don't want.
