Re: Evan and Sarah Wade m. 17 Sept. 1881

Ron, the bapt Len gave you early on in the thread still looks like the best bet for Evan's parents: Evan bapt 7 Dec. 1856 Kirk German, Father: HUGH WADE, Mother: CATHARINE CHRISTIAN [extracted record from IGI]. Your record of Born:4 December 1856 fits this perfectly, as well as his mother's name. The "James" or "Hugh" for his father could be a mistranscription in one of the sources.

Sarah Jane CALLISTER is in the IGI [extracted record] as Christening: 27 AUG 1858 Kirk German, Mother: ELEANOR CALLISTER. This looks like an entry given in the parish register as illegitimate, with no father given.

The 1861 census, German, Knocksharry, has:
Hugh Wade Head, Mar., 47, Fisherman farming 42 acres, b.Michael, with wife Catherine Wade 47 b.German, and their children all unmarr., b. German. Elenor Wade 18 servant, William Wade 16 Agr Labr., James Wade 13 Agr Labr., Catherine Wade 9 Scholar, Henry Wade 6 Scholar, Evan Wade 4 Scholar.

[So "James" was wrongly transcribed? - or wrongly remembered by whoever reported his death?]

I think this is your Sarah Jane in the 1861 census, German, Kk Michael Road:
William Callister Head, Mar., 58, Ag Lab., b.German, with his wife Eleanor Callister 60 b.Peel, Eleanor Callister Daur., Unm., 25, General Serv. b.Peel, and Sarah J Francis, Gran Daur, aged 2 1/2, b.Peel.

In the IOM illegitimate children were usually known by their father's surname, so the "Francis" gives you a clue as to who this was.

The IGI has an extracted marriage entry for Evan WADE & Sarah Jane FRANCIS on 17 SEP 1881 Kirk German. Husband Age at Marriage: 24, Wife Age at Marriage: 23.

This marriage entry should give both their fathers' names and occupations.
On LDS film no.0106177 which can be seen through any of their Family History Centres worldwide, or at the Manx Museum Library. Someone might kindly look in the MM for you.
