Re: Need Help with John Crowe b1846

If would be advisable to check the occupation of John Thomas and his father off the marr. cert. - if his father is specified as a mason then we have the correct family as the Crow/es of Kirk Michael & Peel have been stone masons and builders in continuous line since one Matthias Crow in the mid-eighteenth c.
John Thomas (bap. 1841) was the eldest son of John Crow Mason of K.M. (bap. 1817) by his 1st wife Elinor Quayle (m. 1840) There were 6 more by this marriage. John Crow married 2ndly Elinor Kelly (confusing) (d. 1915) + had a further 4 children.
John Crow (bap. 1817) was the eldest son of Thomas Crow mason of Kk. M. (Bap. 1789, d. 1862)
Thomas also m. twice:
1st Jane Crellin (m. 1813, d. 1840)
2nd Ann Cannell (m. 1841)
If your stepfather's John Thomas does belong to the mason Crowes, I should be glad of details of descendants.
Thomas Crow, mason was the 5th son of my ancestor Matthias Crow, mason of Kk M. (bap 1732, d. 1813).who appears on my Crow tree at www.manxroots.com. Eventually I will add more documents including Matthias' troubles with the Ecclesiastical Courts for defaming a young lady of his native Lezayre.
