no mention of kennerley (which name appears just once on my site in a Douglas Directory)

Re name change - the Island was last linked with Anglesey sometime in the 4/6th Century - so I cannot understand your comment re welsh names - the Welsh were actually the last to adopt modern surnames retaining patronymics until quite late .

There may have been a quickening in the anglicisation of Manx names due to the Stanley takeover and their use of English clerks - the disappearance of the 'Mac' and 'Ine' prefix and the translation of some names (eg Bridson) were probably the result of this.
