I have been trying to sort out a census that I have for 1841 in Rushen. The presence of the children in the household can not be easily explained and it was suggested to me that the children may have been staying with the grandparents if there was an outbreak or another event that would have made it safer for them to be in the house instead of with their parents. I have no idea why children from at least 4 families would be with their grandparents and not their parents.
