I have another bit of land or a location (I think) which was occupied by the Quines. This was actually prompted by your previous post about the Arderry Quines, referring to your website at www.manxroots.com (very interesting, by the way!)
During the 1700s the references to the Quine family included (Arderry) - in brackets after the entry - and variously spelled (Ballachrink) which I assumed – correctly in view of what you have posted - to be the farm where they lived. (The same still happens in rural areas of England to this day where people are referred to by their surname and the farm name.) My family, however, is referred to in this way as Quine (Place). Now, you can put Arderry or Ballachrink into Google or a Gazeteer and come up with a useful result – but Place………….. So, can anybody help me by locating Place, a place in the parish of Kirk Braddan, presumably, as that is where they got entered into the various registers.
