John was born in 1841 at Marown
In the 1881 British census I found a family that seems to match with a family from the 1871 census (see Re: Look up for John Cain in 1871 census please - Ruth Corris -- Friday, 9 September 2005) It appears that Jane may have died giving birth to, or soon after her sons birth, Thomas R Cain b1881 who was 2 months old at the Census (Jane was not on the census record).
